Uk mortgage while working abroad.

Remamber the days when all the brits piled into Spain with their P60´s and got mortgages? Does the same apply the other way round?

I was wondering if I could get a mortgage in the Uk on my spanish salary. I have a decent salary and an idefinite contract. Would Uk banks give me a mortgage on my earnings overseas? I would only be looking to borrow around 50k.

I dont think they would. Once upon a time you would be able to sign a self-certification mortgage, but they got banned after the big crash last year.

Best thing to do is to give one of the bank's mortgage helpline numbers a call and ask.

What about if I had someone to guarantee the mortgage? (which I would have)
