UK licence to Spanish one
Apologies to raise this regular topic, but lifted the below quote from the CAB Spain
“ you renew your EU licence for a Spanish one when your licence is about to expire (up to 3 months before that).”
Do I interpret this as meaning that I cannot change my UK photo licence to a Spanish only when it is about to expire? Mine has a year to run yet and bearing in mind that although things are unclear as yet, it may be the case that it will “soon” not be a EU licence!
Thanks.

With the Brexit fiasco going on it may be better doing it sooner rather than later! See attached thread in case of no deal. I am in a similar position and will be making enquiries.

Re: UK licence to Spanish one
Just checked the DGT site for appointment locations for changing my Driver’s licence and living in Moraira/Teulada on the CB the nearest offices are quoted as either Valencia or Alicante both of which are a nearly two hour drive away. Surely that can’t be correct? Anyone have a link to list which might be more “friendly” as regards locations?
Won’t traffic office stations accept applications?
Thanks.

Why not pay a gestor to do it for you or even the medical centre? I only live an hour away from there but two visits was too much for me so I paid a gestora to do it for me.

Spainrico the links you put on are great whilever we are a EU member or leave with an amicable agreement including driving licences. The link I put on is the latest from our great government in UK and states that with no deal we may well end up like any other third country and unable to simply exchange licence but MAY be required to pass a Spanish or whatever country we live in driving test.

Don’t think about it, just do it. It may be too late, if there is a no deal Brexit

Hola
I have been advising people since the Brexit vote to change their licence before it's too late. I read a link the other day that talked about a no deal Brexit that confirmed it is easy to change back should you move back to the UK. An American friend of mine had to take the test in the Spanish language - not many people I know could pass that exam.
I have another friend going to Trafico tomorrow to exchange their licence
