hi - we have brought our gas bbq from the UK, does anyone have any suggestions on where we can get the fittings/regulator that fits the UK BBQ to the Spanish gas canister? Thanks

hi - thanks. We did try Leroy Merlin but had trouble as all the fittings seemed to be for 9MM and our BBQ is 8MM. My spanish is appalling so had trouble figuring out which fitting would be the right one for the hose bit. Any suggestions?

I dont understand what you mean ,8 & 9mm? you just need to remove the UK regulator from the rubber hose and replace it with one to suit your Spanish gas bottle, luckily Spain and the UK both seem to run LPG at 37 Mbar.

We get the hoses and regulators from the chinese shop for about €5 complete.

If your chinese hose perish `s or your reg leaks and fill`s your kitchen with gas a similar thing will happen when you turn the light on!

Yes they can be very dangerous however in that clip what is the other idiot pouring over the cannister?? before he shoots it

I used to buy them at Leroy Merlin for €15 each (just for the record, Leroy's are also made in China). Turns out our local chinese shop has exactly the same part - same mfr, same markings, same everything for €5 each.

I brought my BBQ down and bought a regulator from the local kitchen shop together with a gas bottle to match the regulator fitting. There is a small difference in size between the nipple on a UK regulator and a Spanish one, could be 1mm. All I did was to split the ribber hose on one side for about 3mm just to get it started on the nipple then when it was fully on a small stanly clip tightend down on the inside of the nipple and all is well. You can of course buy a new Spanish hose and that will fit both ends but I would still use a stanly clip on both ends.

If the hose is slightly small dip the first 2cm into boiling water for a minute or so.
