UK Cheque
Hi guys,
Have a cheque that I need to put into my UK Bank account. Its not life changing, but enough to worry about its safe return, I need it to reside there for the rainy day! I have a Spanish Bank account and obviously a UK account! (Natwest). Trying to get it there without worry of the Correos, and without changing into Euros at my bank and then transferring from them to UK account. Think it might cost me mucho! Without booking it on an economy seat via Easy Jet or carrier pigeon! Any ideas...? |
Re: UK Cheque
DHL? but it'll cost about 30 euros. Or registered from the correos!

Re: UK Cheque
Hi Sarah,
We use Total Postal in Calpe and send most things either priority mail (which takes 3 days to arrive UK) or courier through them. In the 3+ years, we have used them, we have never had a problem. They have shops all through the Costa Blanca North, but I don't know if there is one nearer to you, perhaps in Benidorm or Altea. I can highly recommend them. Here's their website: http://www.totalpostal.com/ Martha |

Thanks Martha,
Have used Total Postal before in Benidorm with work. Wasn't that successful but was within Spain. If that makes a difference... |

Re: UK Cheque
Do you not know anyone going back to UK in next few days who could pay it in for you ?

Re: UK Cheque
Dont use the correos registered mail,
I sent money back to the UK registered, and when I look on the correos website at online tracking it says its in transit....... I sent this 16/07/2007. And its still in transit, no one either side, UK or Spain can tell me where it is exactly. :curse: I would definatly use dhl in future. |
Re: UK Cheque
We just send by normal post and have never had any trouble.

I sent my Marriage cert to my estranged (or should that be strange) husband in September 2006, so he could arrange the divorce... Guess what.. still married, missing/lost marriage certificate, and to add insult to injury, now the husband has gone missing  Correos cant find either!!! :curse: |

The girls here at the Calpe office are brilliant. There has never been a problem sending anything through them.
I highly recommend them, so if you are in the area, it is well worth using the Calpe one. It's across the street from the Plaza Central. Very easy to find. Just found a branch of TP in Alfaz which is 10 mins away so will try them. Thanks. |

Just put the sterling cheque into your Spanish Account, then have the Spanish bank do a transfer of funds to your UK account.
