No, I certainly havent had either a sheltered or privileged life. I was taught to spend only when I had the money, which I know is not the thinking of today. To borrow to buy a home is the exception, and I dont think you can reasonably say that such lenders are sharks ; if so please explain.
Anybody who doesnt put a little away each month for emergencies, knows the risk he is taking, and dont give me the usual reply, that you dont have enough left to put anything away. It’s called budgeting.

I think your example is ridiculous. If you think that by getting a loan from a loan shark, you can solve the problem of your kids being hungry then you need to to learn to match long term problems with long term solutions.
