Got to agree with Mike on this.

New question which is the best X box at the moment? I might need to get a new one.

Hi John just a reminder of a previous chat over a beer. X-box is Microsofts games console ...

What you are looking for are boxes called 'Android boxes'. These run the KODI /XBMC platform and the associated apps like exodus, filmon, phoenix etc for Video & others for photos, music etc.

If you want a cheaper alternative, you can load the free KODI software on your PC or tablet and then watch it on that, or connect that to your TV, for full screen viewing. Newer PC's have a hdmi port so its just a cable you need -many tablets have a mini hdmi needing a cheap adapter &cable. Ipads need something like Apple TV - more expensive than many Android boxes. So I personally recommend using the PC or Android tablet with hdmi - or a way to 'cast' to the TV. I wouldn't put it on ipad, if I havent already got Apple TV (IMO)

Setup will take time but youtube is full of videos for whatever operating systems you want to load it on.

Googling 'Best Android boxes' will help, and buying a preloaded Android box is the best hassle-free option to get up and going quickly. KODI can be run on many operating systems so 'best KODI platforms' for the purist. https://www.google.es/search?client=...iw=592&bih=280. Im sure you can run it on an x-box but that is an expensive way to do what I think you want

PS most all optios have remote wireless mouse / keyboards, so you dont have to even get off the couch for a great 'potato experience':)

Hola

I've been using ITPV streaming boxes for what seems ages; I have settled on a supplier that backs its product up with many helpful videos etc. I have no connection with the company but several friends have bought there also

Not 100% sure it is actually sent from the UK, given how filmon works.
and compoosat do not have their "own servers"... they simply take the affiliate feed from filmon.

Just a PS.
There are some legal concerns about pre-loaded boxes that I mentioned in the earlier post. Apparently some companies are pre-loading some dodgy software. I just read this in one of the links I gave. Going through a 'good dealer' mentioned in the link or say Amazon should cover you ( I guess) as people like Amazon wouldn't sell illegal stuff. I hope!!

Re: TV and Internet help

If someone wants a simple and cheap way to simply watch TV using film on then buy a Now TV box from eBay I got a brand new latest box for £9. Now TV comes with an app already on it called PlayTo. Then if you have an android smart phone or tablet download that app to that from Playstore cost for full app around £2. PlayTo has built into the app a number of links including Film on ( it us on the menu under online ). Simply open Filmon from within PlayTo on the the phone or tablet then cast it to TV via the Nowtv box (to do this simply touch an orange arrow on the PlayTo screen) the programme then spread full size good quality on the TV. Once it is on the TV you can then turn off the tablet/phone screen or even turn it off completely. I use this all the time very cost effective simple answer. It may be that OP could download PlayTo direct to their smart TV so even easier. Here's a link to PlayTo.
