John, depends on how long you need to be there and if cost is important.

Small aircraft 'air taxi' is the quickest but probably the most expensive.

You can do it in a car, but it would be a long drive of about 5 to 6 hours e/w at a guess.

Cheers Econ, As long as i am there and back in a day it does not really matter. Will look into the flying, never been on a small aircraft so would be fun.

People I was working for once had me working in Mojacar on a job but wanted me in Malaga for one day, they flew me in a light aircraft. I had already had several flights like this in other areas of Spain so I didn't expect it to be any different. As most people know, most of the Almeria to Malaga coast is covered with plastic, this plastic can create thermals, in a light aircraft it can be quite unnerving the first time you hit these . This is nothing to worry about, I am not trying to put you off, it is fun... just letting you know in case you decide on a small 2 seater (pilot and you), now you will have no surprises.

Honestly, it is nothing to worry about, just trying to mark your card.

HAHA Sounds fun.

I enjoy flying and what it brings so don't mind.

I take it there is no rail link between the two then ?

I drove from Denia (one hour north of Alicante) to Malaga. It took 5 and a half hours going and just over 6 on the return journey (no stops at all). The drive through inland Andalucia is beautiful but I wouldnt want to do the return journey in one day.

Nah, it took about 4 hours, but you have to be careful around Huescar as the hills have eyes

Most of the two seaters are really just trainer aircraft and can be quite slow in the cruise. A four seater will be much more comfortable, and the added speed will often compensate for the extra cost/hour as chock to chock time will be much less. Plus you can carry a small amount of baggage in the bigger 'craft...

Some of the complex singles (retractable gear and variable pitch props) are much faster, virtually double the speed of a two seater - however the extra expense may not compensate.

John1979 - If you do find yourself in the right hand chair, I strongly recommend asking to 'have a go'... it really is very good fun, and you might get the 'bug'

Word!

The sign translates as "Abandon hope all ye who enter here".

As Mitzy will confirm, North Eastern Granada is as far removed from the Spain that most of you know as is humanly possible!
