Translating birth certificates
 

I wasn't able to get my children's resident certificates (EX16) today because I don't have translated copies of their birth certificates. Any ideas where I can get this done - do I need to go to a gestoria?
Until I get this I can't officially register them at the doctors - so I am now in the system and have a doctor but not the children. Getting very frustrated as I was hoping to get it sorted today. Also the woman at the police station was horrible! :thumbdown: But at least the one at the doctors was nice and very helpful.

Hi, been there, got the T shirt ha ha....

Daughter had same problem, but I found a good company to do this, you just fax or scan and send original by e mail, and they send translated copy back by courier, took about two days and cost €50. UnUnfortunately am at work, and address etc., is at home, will look later and post it on here for you.

Thank you. I would like the address later. I was just looking up translations and was getting confused. Was your daughter's a sworn translation or just an ordinary translation? Because I really don't know what exactly I need.
Every time I go to sort something out I take everything official I have and 'millions' of photocopies yet they still want something else!

Glad jdr sent address to you, this was "official", had lots of stamps on it anyway, and after ages not being registered (although they accepted our daughter and husband) our Grandaughter now registered. As you say, does not matter how many photo copies you have, they always ask for something you do not have ! Good luck.

Hi,
I know this is not anthing to do with what your talking about but as im new to this site and am bumbling around, i noticed you were mums and i was wondering if i could ask a bit of advice?
Im soon to be moving to Ibiza in jan and i will be taking my new baby who will be 3 months and i was wondering about her injections, are they the same as in england and will it be easy to find a english speaking doctor?
with my first daughter i was back and forwards so all her injections were done in england but as this will be our final move i would like any advice you might have on what or where to have them done?

If you look in the Free Beer thread at the top you will find lots of links to things that may help like "Mums in Spain"
I think the injections are given slightly later than UK, most clinics in holiday areas have interperators if no English speaking doctors are about.
You will need a translated certified copy of the birth certificate to register her at the clinic though if she was born outside of Spain.
If you need any more help, ask away and I will ask my daughter as she has just gone through the procedure.

PS, you will need birth cert translation for your other daughter also.

Thanks so much for the info i'll defo get on to having the birth certificate translated and also over here when your baby is born you get a red book with all the injections written that you have to keep untill their about 5 is this used in spain or something similar do you know?

Our daughter had the red book, took it with her, now Granddaughter registered with doctor here they have given her the Spanish equivalent.

I did not post it because spammers use software to pick up and sell email address`s from forums.
