The tooth fairy...
...is very likely to be visiting our finca in the coming days.
It's been 'a while' shall we say since I last had a visit, and with inflation and a new currency to contend with, anyone happen to know the going rate in euros for a lower central incisor?! Is there even a tooth fairy tradition in Spain, or do they just use it as an excuse to close all the roads and throw another fiesta? ;) Or am I so out of touch, should I just leave my credit card under the pillow? |

I think that it has to be worth one euro or if you are a generous soul a two euro coin. Rosemary |

Leave a letter stating it's unhygienic to leave teeth under a pillow.

Re: The tooth fairy...
Being in personal contact with the Toothfairy 1 euros sounds very much like a good exchange. She told me that she didn't want to tread on anyones toes as she strictly is for UK teeth only but she feel sure that the Spanish Toothfairy would be in full agreement for her to do this as a favour.;)

Re: The tooth fairy...
Yes, there is a tooth fairy tradition in Spain....................sorry! :D
Our little 6 year old friend told us very proudly that the tooth fairy had been - but I'm afraid I can't remember how much she said she had been left. However, I think a nice shiny Euro coin should do the trick.............after all, just how many packets of Usanitos (sp??) can you get for a Euro!!? |

And you need a credit card just to lose one! My OH had to have his wisdom tooth removed in the summer and it cost 230 euros.

Re: The tooth fairy...
My Spanish friend said that there is no tooth fairy but a mouse who takes the tooth and leaves a present not money.

Rosemary I'm concerned that bringing up 'don't be silly, there's no such thing as a tooth fairy... we lied, it's okay for parents to do that by the way, it's actually a tooth mouse' at this stage may be somewhat disturbing. Oh the lies, the deceit... we parents should be ashamed of ourselves! However, I do like the idea of replacing the tooth with some extra-chewy toffee to encourage the others out. :) Thanks everyone as always for your advice and research! I guess the 1 euro wins the day... this is Spain after all, cost of living, etc. |

Rosemary I had heard about a mouse, in fact there is a film about him, El raton Perez, and he leaves a gift not money. Aaaah how sweet. xxxxxxxxxxx |
