Buy some plastic dust sheets to put over the car seats to protect them for the return journey. Enjoy. Rosemary |
Re: Tomatina....
Went 6 years ago with 3 families. Some stayed protected behind statues but still got a few hits. Warning it can get rough, some throw wet tshirts knotted ouch! plus the acid in tomatoes will really sting, take goggles if you are worried or eyedrops for after. After the main fight which (stops at the stroke of a bell) There is a river of tomato juice that you can roll around in (as previous posters photo) But be warned that cameras are at great risk. We saw people with them wrapped up and taped with plastic but we ruined a videocamera. The locals bring out their hoses as you leave and will hose you down but there are ALOT of people so you may not get "done" So take a change of clothing. We put plastic ponchos on younger kids, they can duck "inside" if it gets too much!
We were guided to a fuente afterwards about 3 km out of town. Park by the road and walk about 10 mins. it was a picnic spot and had a high rock to jump off into a natural pool. beautiful and peaceful. Great finish off for the day and cleaned off the kids! Lots of locals there so ask where it is. |
