Toilet Trouble on Costa Esuri

I have an apartment in Las Encinas on Costa Esuri and a couple of very tired toilet seats that need replacing. I don’t know where to get the replacements and was hoping someone else had already replaced theirs and could point me in the right direction. The seats are round at the front and square at the back, which sit flush with the shape of the toilet. Any help would be much appreciated 🤞

Last time I needed one I bought it online, there is a huge selection to choose from. For example

https://www.amazon.es/s?k=tapas+de+w...l_2lqclbgcd0_e

Other suppliers are available, just Google "tapas de inodoro"

It was raining cats and dogs there last week.

Do you mean the toilet seat is 'straight at the back', rather than being "square at the back"?

Does the image below show the shape of your loo seat?

Straight and U shaped overall.

Re: Toilet Trouble on Costa Esuri

More this shape but need to fit to existing hole in the loo.

Re: Toilet Trouble on Costa Esuri

Straight back to rear, parallel sides terminating in a semicircular, on the front end.

Well, if I was replacing the toilet seat I'd go the whole hog and get new mats also and maybe even curtains.

But all depends on he colour scheme you have going in the bathroom.

Just replaing one item can end up a can of worms as you look at everything else and can find yourself doing a whole refurb on the entire bathroom.

Uncle buck, I think you're on a slippery slope there....

What brand - marque is the toilet? A manufacture normally will print their name on the cistern somewhere...

When you find it, use google translate for "toilet seat" and place in your search engine search box - spanish for toilet seat, brand - marque and your location.. It should give you distributors in that area..

Do you have a large hardware shop near you

Leroymerlin? or Bricor

If so they will have a decent display of toilet seats on show.

This article on Leroy Merlin´s site shows that there are 3 shapes of toilet , round, oval and rectangular. They also advise on how to measure the toilet bowl to get the correct size. Then is is just a straight choice of colours and prices.

We got replacement seats as you describe from Abreu in Lepe. It's just of town on the L'Antilla road - off the first roundabout.

Thanks for the replies guys. I am particularly interested in the ones that fit the contours of the toilet i.e. the lid is flush with the back of the toilet pan. Hard to describe without a picture but those on Las Encinas/Esuri would know. I will take a look at the suggested places and hopefully I can find what I need 👍

Toilet seats largely follow general standards, so the most important thing is to measure the distance between the mounting bolts and the width and depth of the lid.

Toilet seats can be found in the Ferrer electrodomesticos store either in the Ayamonte store next to the market hall, but at least in their Industrial Zone store.
These can also be found inexpensive in most of Ayamonte's "China stores" and there is nothing wrong with them.
With the mentioned dimensions it is easy to check the fit. If you want to make sure, remove one seat and take it with you to the store. (these are only fastened with two bolts behind the toilet).
If you really want a wide selection, then Leroy Merlin in Lepe is a good option.
When buying, it is important to make sure that the "pads" under the seat are large enough; in the cheapest models they are small and hard plastic that will not last long.

Actually in terms of ´standards´,ISO 17966:2016 Assistive products for personal hygiene that support users — Requirements and test methods

Useful link here in what to measure etc., if you have to replace your toilet seat.

Re: Toilet Trouble on Costa Esuri

This is the type I am after. As you can see it’s not just about the holes lining up. It has to be an exact match otherwise it won’t fit. That’s why I was hoping someone else on Esuri had replaced the same type and knew where to get them.

As stated earlier by Thomas Bern

If you want to make sure, remove one seat and take it with you to the store.

Simple

Re: Toilet Trouble on Costa Esuri

If you are in an apartment block then chances are they installed the same bathroom suites in all the apartments. If that is the case then you could ask some of the neighbours, as they will have faced the same issue.

The loo looks quite modern.

As growinspain indicated then check for a manufacturers name on the loo itself. Google, I think the manufactures along with toilets to see if you can work out the name of the bathroom suite or a model number for it. They you may be able work out which loo seat is required.

Re: Toilet Trouble on Costa Esuri

I'm guessing you want to replace because the UVA sunlight has discoloured the seat & cover. I took mine to Leroy merlin at Huelva but couldn't get an identical fit one. I decided that life is too short and I can't be arsed driving round loads of shops. My solution was to buy some abrasive steel wool and rub down the seat and cover having dismantled it by pulling out the pins. I bought a big can of brilliant white gloss spray paint from the Meca chinese shop in town. I resprayed evenly with three coats of paint one side at a time. Leave in sun for a few hours to harden between coats. Result was it looks brand new. I used almost a whole can of paint at 2.90 euros and the steel wool was left over from another job. You could use fine abrasive paper circa 480/ 520 grit. NB, Years ago I refinished classic cars so have lots of experience painting all manner of things, but anyone can do it with a bit of common sense.

Just to repeat my earlier post - we have Fadesa installed toilets exactly as you describe and got replacement in Abreu. I have the box it is described as: Gala Marina G5142001- blanco , there is also a bin number of 2805191058.
This was a couple of years back but I reckon they could get you one if they haven't got in stock

There has to be a joke here, working on it :) :)

You can try searching on e.g e--bay for 'D shaped toilet seat' if for some reason Mike's idea doesn't pan out... (pun intended). Not expensive even if you are not 'flush' :)

I think Mike is spot on with the model number.

From my limited experience original replacements are hard to find.

I hope you are sitting down when Abreu give you a price for one

You can find a compatible seat and lid replacement for it on eBay.es or Amazon.es.

Just checked one reputable supplier who has them in stock. 51 euro inc delivery.

All sorted, Abreu in Lepe had one in stock for 85€ which is a bit pricey but I know some seats can cost a couple of hundred. The model number was a bit different than the one stated above but fits perfect. You can get them cheaper on Amazon, and will probably buy from there next time.
