I have little doubt that the players will still get their astronomical wage packets, even if their clubs and the banks go under in the process.

Certainly last month Barcelona didn't pay their players, they had to borrow £125 million. Manchester United are supposedly over a billion in debt, and these are the most successful clubs!

Not fish I know but equally as good if not better than most run of the mill Spanish resturants.

24 euros is around 20 quid ,and in Spain you generally get stingy portions unless you go up market a bit.

Loads of offers around those prices, loads of two for one deals, Wetherspoons do a curry meal, and that includes a drink which can be even a pint of guiness or gin and tonic etc, all for £6. They were selling San Miguel at 99p, not sure if they still are. Even a great takeaway choice of two course menu for two, plus a bottle of decent wine, only costs a tenner from M&S. Quality food at silly prices. Methinks the Binman is out of touch.

Re: Are the times still tough?
I know a nice UK country pub that has a Thursday steak night, £20 for 2 people including a pint or glass of wine each. In the area are lots of 2 for a tenner decent lunches and one at only £9 for 2.
Sometimes we would have a snack lunch at a local chiringuito. About 3 years ago cost was a reasonable 16 euro including a bottle of wine. The same meal a few months ago cost 38 euro...unbelievable! Used to be busy even in winter, last few times we passed by there was an average of 4 people in, crazy.

Well I have just been made redundant, Went to the INEM this morning to sign on. This puts a totally new perspective on things and I will have to look at all options. Including a return to the uk as I have 2 young kids to feed. No panic just yet but I will be applying for jobs everywhere. Have not got a clue where to start in Spain though. There is just nothing in my area.
