Time for the UK to join the euro???
In light of the latest problems facing the European currency, e.g. Ireland and Portugal having had a bailout; Greece facing collapse and needing another bailout, a Belgian bank collapsing and now Italy teetering on the brink, possibly tipping Austria over the edge...
… should the UK adopt the Euro? A cross-section survey of 10,000 people in Sheffield, made up of a representative sample of local citizens consisting of Afghans, Albanians, Pakistanis, Indians, Poles, Iraqis, Somalis, Bosnians, Turks, Moldovans, Latvians, Lithuanians, Bangladeshis, Ethiopians, Russians, Congolese and Zimbabweans were asked if they thought Britain should change its currency and adopt the Euro … … 99.9% said no, they were happy with the Giro. |

Re: Time for the UK to join the euro???
I don't want to be serious, I love the thread, I know of an English guy on all the benefits going. I was discussing him earlier tonight with his close relatives here in Spain and I was trying to be as neutral as can be, until they informed that the cheating f***** owned a Mercedes, nearly new.
You can't condone that kind of thing, even if you're a wet Liberal like myself. Sorry to be serious, I love the Giro bit. |

Re: Time for the UK to join the euro???
I was sent that in an e-mail a couple of years ago with a different context but same ending. Good opener though for a thread to whinge about benefit cheats and immigrants:rofl:

not really, the survey seems to be biased but still cannot see what is wrong with it, perhaps I am just being confuddled by the numbers, this being an Extra Hot May.

Re: Time for the UK to join the euro???
The insanely sad and respective ideal about the OP is that the every so called government throughout the last 40 yrs have had the problem staring them in the face and have chosen to do nothing about it. In fact two successive governments have encouraged and exacerbated the ever increasing crisis hiding behind the lie that it compounded and aided economic growth....
I can recall a piece of social satirical ‘Doggeral’ from the 1960’s that showed the situation was widespread even then... ‘’I come to England poor and broke, go on dole see labour bloke, Fill in form say Hi there honey, kind man give me lots of money ‘’...Google for the rest of the ditty which appears in various themes, each to conform to the decade. The only people to blame for the state of the nation are the elected leaders and the plebes who put them there. ''Now, where is my benefit book?'' |

They look like very dodgy figures to me. I just can't see where they could have got the pro-euro 0.1% from. |
