Teaching Spanish

How does a Spanish person go about qualifying to teach his/her native language to english ex pats? TEFL courses [teaching english as a foreign language] are available in Spain. Is there a Spanish version of this?

Do you really need any type of official certifications? I assume you would be working out of your home, or tutoring one on one at their homes...and may not need a sheepskin, as you might if you were working for the "Acme Spanish School" .
