The point I am making is that a salary Â£19,200 per year is much higher in Spain than it is in the UK. It is in the upper half of salaries, maybe even in the top third

So it is normal that it is taxed at a higher rate

Believe me, it is way cheaper living in Spain than living in the UK especially now the pound is much stronger against the Euro. For me personally, Spain is about half the price of the UK. But then I was living in London before

We are; there are worse counties to be self employed in. Yes things could be better but then they could be in the UK too. Plus if you recall, in the first response to your question, I said that you get more benefits than you do in the UK. I also stated that tax allowances are different to the UK and they depends on your work.
How can we be more specific if you have not given us full details? I am not asking for them, but you have to given them to someone sometime to see if your worries are truly a deal beaker. There are a number of us here who work, most would be self-employed, Spain has a lot of start ups so it is not 100% out of the question.

Why is everyone writing about UKP? I have not even got the icon on my keyboard it matters so little in Europe.
Please do not belive everything in Spain is cheaper. Internet, gas and electric is quite expensive. Second hand cars too.
