Tax in Spain
Hi all, just wondering what the taxation is like in Spain. I have been offered a teaching position at 27500 euro. I have a family who won't accompany me for a while- it is a salary drop for me I just need to see how big or guesstimate- if anyone can help I would really appreciate it

I will be working there- have no assets anywhere hence the move!

Re: Tax in Spain
It would depend on how many children you have living with you etc. But, 27,500€ gross per annum might give you about 1790€ net per month if they give you 12 payments a year (sometimes it's 14).

BE is a very large expat website, so if you have problems finding your way around we have concierges who will try to direct you. The moderators for the Spanish forums are Mitzyboy and Fred James, moderators are there to ensure that the site runs smoothly within the rules of BE. Problems and complaints should always be addressed to a moderador who will look into the matter and deal with it efficiently and fairly. Our members who post in the Spain Forums are friendly and helpful with a wealth of knowledge of the issues of living in Spain. At the top of the page you will find a quirkily named thread called Free Beer which is full of important and useful information. Hope you enjoy your time participating in the forums. Please let me know if you need any further help. Rosemary |

Re: Tax in Spain
Thanks so much that is what I got when I worked it out. The school has told me that I can claim tax credits for my children and spouse even if they are not resident with me? My family will be in Tunisia and I will be supporting them- is this the case? I cannot find that stated anywhere and dont want to end up in a position where I cannot afford to support them- my husband is not working at present hence the move

Re: Tax in Spain
You can only claim any tax allowances for dependents who are living with you.
