Once you have paid Spanish tax you can download a tax certificate to send to HMRC I have recently done this and submitted a double taxation treaty form to HMRC. To download the certificate you will need to have an electronic signature. I submitted my double taxation treaty form in Sept I rang HMRC the other day for confirmation it had been received and being processed. It has and they said target date for dealing with it is end of January the cogs turn slowly. Here's the link to obtain certificate
