tax question
Hello,
brief summary... two years ago came to the spain to work for company, registered at hacienda and nie, but before i got paid by the spanish side of the company, the crisis hit and it didn't work out. I went back to the uk, before my 183 days were up and set my own british ltd company. For the last two months have been on holiday in catalunya, but have still been doing work from my uk company on and off here via the internet as well as me commuting to the UK for a fortnight. Whilst here, have gained two clients and see the opportunity of getting more, if i put a little bit of effort in. So now it makes sense to explore the possiblity of moving here for good, rather than being based in the UK. To do that, it makes sense to move to the spanish tax system , however, in terms of organisation I like to spend three months doing the transition slowly as to keep my british clients, as well as pragmatically deciding if moving to spain is the right thing to do.... and spend the next three months working one week in the uk, three weeks in spain. My question is, am i allowed to actively pursue spanish clients in spain such as advertising and personal visits. Then invoice them through my uk ltd company during this period, whilst I decide to set myself up as automono? And if this is not the case, is there a cut off point for when I must sign up as an autonomo? |

Wow I wont even pretend to know where to start on that one, and I am sure that if you ask 10 different accountants in Spain, you will get 10 different answers.
 Welcome to the forum. Good luck anyway. second, must apologise for my poor grammar, but it was late after all. Third, must apologise for not being gracious in my first post, see second point. Forth, i think that answer alone confirms it's a grey area, so thanks, it helps a great deal... Fifth, can't think of fifth point. Regards BCNa |
Re: tax question
I think if you are advertising for clients in Spain the Spanish taxman will get involved, you pay tax where you live and you are living in Spain.
It`s no good relying on info off the web, you need a good accountant as it could get costly if you do the wrong things. ;);) |
