Default Swimming pools

Just out of interest/curiosity what are the rules/laws to installing a swimming pool on your property - does the garden have to be a certain size - i remember someone saying they couldn't have it too close to their neighbour - i think i remember a metre being mentioned but it was a while ago so not sure now
Thanks in advance xxxxx

You will need a major works building licence to build a pool. It will be your local town hall planning department who will decide if you can build one. The rules will probably vary from town to town, so the only person who can answer your question will be a local architect or a planning officer at the town hall.

HI Sam, you also need the "community" to give you unanimous permission if you are part of one that is.

Hello,

Can't speak for everywhere (the rules vary greatly from region to region) but around here, you need 17000 square meters of land to ensure you can buy get permission. But it depends on the community, and how much you might be willing to pay for permission.
