Swimming pool in the sun all day
The swimming pool does not have any shade on it all day, so therefore gets max heat from the sun. Would this justify having a hose pipe trickling water into it all day long, or could the pool be leaking?
We initially asked for clarification from the owners at the start of the buying process, but they keep just saying it's not leaking.
Any advice welcome.
Thanks.

My pool, which is never totally in full sun, looses about 1cm a day in these temperatures.
It hardly looses any water in winter.

Our loses a lot in the summer - over 1cm on some days. It also depends on the humidity - if it's very dry the rate increases.
Ours is topped up automatically every day.
You can test for a leak by putting a container of water next to the pool and seeing how fast that goes down - if the pool goes down faster you may have a leak.

Just raise the ball cock on the water inlet and see how much to pool goes down over 24 hrs!

You will only have one if it auto fills and from your original post it sounds to me that it does not.
