Considering how much they charge for a cup of coffee and the little they pay in taxes to the countries they operate in I would have thought the second cup could be paid for by the likes of Starbucks.

And they probably need the good will and potential tax benefits for charity donations than I do.
:sneaky:

This is one of the most ridiculous ideas I've ever seen. Charity for the middle classes

Not exactly a new concept. Welfare has always benefitted more people with resources than those without.

Exactly! Great way of increasing their sales too.

It's a nice idea in principle but eventually people will avoid going into cafes that do it because they will be full of down-and-outs. Better perhaps to give the money to a charity like the Cruz Roja perhaps, who set up food banks and shelters?

I think its a brilliant idea, at the very least it makes people take two seconds to think about other people.

I like the idea for 2 reasons 1 ) You know where the money is going, on a coffee. I avoid giving to beggars in the street who may just spend on drinks and drugs, not that they have much else in life 2 ) /yes, it may help a local shop's sales - may even help them to retain staff..
Of course it's not a perfect solution, but what is?
