Errrrrr .... why don't you say something when you get short changed then? They probably won't do anything now as its your word against theirs.

Not heard of that supermarket I'm afraid and nothing on google.

I've challenged the woman on the till on several occasions, but to no avail, she just makes it look as though its a mistake, but its 1 Euro each time. :curse:

Why don't you take an extra euro every time you shop there, then, when they shortchange you, you can leave the shop subconsciously not being a euro down?

Steal something to the value of one euro whilst in the store. Better still.... steal something worth 2 euros and you'll have the last laugh being 1 euro up:thumbup:

Except you probably won't be laughing during the strip search at the local nick:unsure:

I complained about prices in Mas once even took the manager over to the product, and he pointed out that the price on the shelf was for the product below. :curse::curse:
I said that`s a really good system to con the tourists but not me, left the shopping all over the counter and went to a different shop. :D

Carrefour hardly ever take account of the special offers when you get to the till. I complained once that something was three for two, but they charged me for three and I got told to go to the query counter, where of course there was queue of 10 so I didn't bother

These stores are owned by El Corte Ingles, as is Hiopercor,Opencor etc.
Look at www.elcorteingles.es , the CEO of the whole shebang is Isidoro Alvarez. I hope this helps.

Re: Supersol

Supersol till staff are well known for doing this, last year there was a big article in one of the papers informing people of what was going on.

Sometimes the girls do if they help you pack your stuff away into bags, other times they do it anyway.

If you are worried then just use a debit card or try and pay the correct money (or close to it as possible)

Writing to head office won't make a blind bit of difference as they couldnt care less.

Is this happeneing with English or Foregin buyers only or in the report did it say that they stripe up there own aswell ?

Re: Supersol

There is a rumour that the sour faced cashier in our local Makom smiled at someone the other day and her nose fell off with the shock of it. The staff all seem to be so miserable, and we always get smiles from the staff in Mercadona, Lidl and Carrefour, as well as the local specialist shops. :(

It was in one of the English written papers, I can't remember which but I presume they were doing it to anyone and it was always one euro that they pocketed.

I use Supersol a lot and did spot checks a few times after the article and I always had the correct change. The girls in my local shop are lovely and always polite so it's probably run by a decent manager which I think is the difference plus the shop is in our urbanisation.

Re: Supersol

Hi,
Although i do not have a Supersol near me there is a Cayetano and everytime I visit I am over charged a euro, and i have to inform the staff. I was thinking about this and i came to the cynical conclusion that either the staff were diddling the Brit who does not understand the currency (thinking i was a holidaymaker) or that the Brits dio not complain because in the heat they cannot be bothered as thats what I did in the first instance.

The only conclusion I came to is either the staff are cheating to keep the shop open or they are cheating because they are desperate for cash because maybe they have big mortgages

Who knows

Well the best answer is vote with your feet, I wouldn't go to a supermarket where people ripped me off ......... oh ... wait a moment I use carrefour DOH

alaninspain Jul 29th 2007 1:07 am

Re: Supersol

Mitzyboy - the difference is that Carrefour management rip you off, not the staff. Our nearest Carrefour check out girls usually smile and are honest, the store is too expensive to use much. ;)
