Never heard of it so looked it up in Wiki. Oh boy it sounds delicious although there seems to be conflicting evidence as to where it came from. Some say Italian immigrants and others say a wwii American chef. Look up Wiki and see the varitions we shall certainly be trying them. I worked for fifteen years with a guy from Middlesborough and he never mentioned it the****** he must have been keeping it to himself.

Best way to describe it is something similar to an escalope of pork or chicken, coated in breadcrumbs and I shallow fry, in the boro they are deep fried for quickness and then it has a layer of white or mild cheese sauce (has to be really thick or cold when put on) then that is covered with medium/strong grated cheese, throw it in the oven to reheat through, the cheese sauce to warm up and the grated cheese to melt serve with cheesy chips and garlic sauce, tastes even better cold the next morning, lol

Wow, I am drooling now. Adore the sound of this and love cheesy chips and garlic sauce but to me it does not sound very apetising cold. Definitely a must make.
