Stairs that twinkle
Can anyone recommend a source for purchasing lights or led lights for Stairs within Spain ? (Alicante)
I have visited many 'lighting specialists' but found none for Stairs per-say.
Yes, one could insert spotlights but the issue is with their durability / getting kicked.
Any advice is welcome

There are several ways you could do this.
Both use a spot light fitting.
1) Purchase a 12V system and hang the bulbs from wires. No LEDs and the light is stronger than LEDs.
Bulbs are either 35 or 50 W.
Fittings GU4
Maybe stinging a few lamps with the wires exposed would not be very nice for you and you would have to hide the transformer.
There are many variants on this but here is an example.
Available anywhere that sells light bulbs.
2) The second uses LEDS but with 240V, so no transformers to hide.
The white light is not always powerful enough for you to see details like reading books. But it will be enough to see when walking.
These us the GU10 fitting. Normally you have to purchase the spot lamp with a 250 Volt 50w bulb. Places like Carrefour stock the LEDs, but also try the local white goods suppliers as we have found that they stock them too. Last resort maybe the Chinese shop but the quality will not be so good.
We have both systems. The first is for spotlights above the main dining table and the other as background light for the office. The later is great when you can walk into a room with out having to switch on a light. Both systems are left on all day and we have found that the transformers burn out because of the power surges you get in Spain. But I would not swap them for the LEDS because the light is not strong enough to eat by.
Hope this helps.

Well after doing some searching I have found something...but this begin Spain company websites are not so good.
First site gives a list of lighting suppliers.
http://www.calsi.com/prod_ilu.htm
There are a lot to go though so I will leave that for you!
But here is an example I went to Zemper
http://www.zemper.com
and looking through that website I managed to find this pdf which gives some great illustrations on the sorts of lamps you are looking for.
http://www.zemper.com/fileadmin/PDF/..._Balizados.pdf
Also found the school of architects details as to what is what regarding the law.
This may help you find something. http://editorial.cda.ulpgc.es/instal...AJOS/LAU87.htm
I do not know where to purchase them. in this house we are only obliged to have the emergency wall lights. I know I can purchase them or the batteries from EXPERT; the white good supplier. But they would have to order them.
Maybe ask you local builder suppliers our local chap knows where to purchase other things he does not stock.

Amazing collection of Suppliers
I've got the hang of the main page you linked now.
Troll & Cristher have some very smart items. Already chosen the styles I need.
And to think I woke this Morning with no leads.
Again, thanks so much for the link
