Spanish Will

Can anyone suggest a lawyer in the Oliva and Gandia area please. Our English solicitors have advised us to have a Will done in Spain to cover our holiday home in Oliva Nova - hence this request. I take it that the Spanish Will would need to refer to the existence of English Wills and will also need to make clear that it only covers the disposal of our Spanish estate and has no bearing on our English estate. Is that right? Is there anything else we need to take into account?

Thank you

Absolutely correct and your UK will must mention the existence of the Spanish will.

You don't need a lawyer - use a gestor or even go directly to the notary who can do it for you. You will need a translator anyway when signing the will unless you speak very good Spanish.

Re: Spanish Will

Or you could just go this way.
A holographic will (testamento ológrafo) is a will made in your own handwriting or orally. If written, it must be signed and dated and must be clearly drafted in order to ensure that your wishes are absolutely clear. No witnesses or other formalities are required. It can be voluntarily registered with the registry or wills. On the death of the testator it must be authenticated before a judge, which will delay the will's execution. An oral will must be made in the presence of five witnesses, who must then testify to a notary the wishes of the deceased. The notary then prepares a written will and certifies it. For anyone with a modest Spanish estate, for example, a small holiday home in Spain, a holographic will is sufficient.
