Spanish Sim
 

Hi
Can anyone advise what is the best Spanish Sim card to get. I am currently with movistar though they seem very expensive to text back to the uk and even charges you to check your balance:ohmy:

If u are on the phone and have an internet connection download Skype buy some credit and text from Skype. Costs you about 8 cents a text to the UK. Brilliant. I have saved loads and loads. Also text to my friend in Cyprus all the time.

It also depends on where you are, my Vodaphone only works in certain areas, not up in the mountains, Movistar seems to be the only one that works up there..That skype route seems good.

Voipcheap is even better, 5 cents connection phone to phone free call, PC to PC free, 5 cents connection 8 cents per min your phone to UK mobles, free texts to UK mobiles.

All text uk via mobile expensive. I had Movistar bills of over 70 eu per month constant billing problems,staff unhelpful. Changed vodaphone last year bills 1/3 of Movistar.You only pay 1 min for 1 hour talk to other Vodaphone clients. Shop staff very helpful, haven't rang customer service in a year haven't had need.
Text still 60 cents uk but not getting charged long text message prices 1.20 1.80 as I was with Movistar.
Skype sounds good but only have dial up trac phone in campo that living beleive me.

Free texts to UK mobiles sounds brilliant. Any catches?

No catches as far as I can see.
Only it costs 2 cents a min more to phone Spanish mobile than UK mobile ???
There is a list of free call countries on their site.

Well I downloaded it and made my first free phone call to a UK landline but it says that text messages cost 5 cents which I think is dearer than Skype.

There is another company very similar called Voipstunt, you can also use MSN and Google Talk for free calls pc to pc.

Whoops sorry, UK, Spain and USA, 1 cent a text + tax = 1.2 cents ;-))
