Default Spanish regional income tax question

Hi all

From what i gather income tax differs between some regions ? If so my question is, if i move around in Spain 1) would my employer be responsible for adjusting for regional income tax differences on their side, or 2) is that something i can adjust/correct myself anytime i decided to change regions 3) or is it automated based on address changes on the Spanish gov side ?

I work fully remotely.

Tnx

When a tax declaration is submitted, one box that has to be filled in is the region. I assume your employer will do that, but make sure he knows about your change of address.

Not sure about every case but I worked (until 2020) for a company who's Spainish arm was based in Madrid and all of the service engineers were mobile from home (in my case the Uk but that was a special case) and they were all taxed as if they worked at base, in Madrid.
Expenses and personal allowances were treated differently by region which caused some friction between the engineers. And being the outsider I had to listen to all of them moaning...
But because salary was a central payment it was taxed where it was paid from.

Not sure about this, but the only way round this would be to set up branches with their own tax codes in each region.

This reminds me of my experience with AEAT when I moved from Navarra to Malaga. I phoned them to confirm change of address, was asked for my personal details and new address and then for Line Code , I think it was 600 something ( don't remember exactly ) from my previous year's declaration. I said I had no such code. I heard him sigh loudly over the phone and then he asked the same question again. I read out the line codes in numerical order to demonstrate no such code existed. "Where have you come from ?" , he asked "Navarra" , I replied . "Ah Navarra !" he exclaimed "Everything is different there ". I had effectively disappeared from the national system for over 17 years.
