Default Spanish Plugs - Wiring Advice please ?

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could help me with a query on wiring electrical plugs in Spain.

I have a number of UK electrical appliances (3 core cable – brown, blue, green) which I want to convert and fit the Spanish 2 pin plugs.

1. Is this possible ?
2. In the plug I have bought there are only 2 locations for wires (no place for the earth ?)

Please could someone advise please ?

You need the Spanish earthed plug which is still 2 pin but has the earth connection as a metal strip at the top & bottom of the plug which connects with the earth connector in the earthed plug socket. The earthed socket s deeper than the simple unearthed type. The earth cable on the UK appliance should be yellow and green striped.

Perhaps a sparkie could give us a clue on fitting plugs, do you now need certification to do it or are you allowed DIY ?
Just asking cos everything now seems to come with moulded plugs, is this just for company warrenty or insurance requirements ?

My understanding is that this is for company warranty.

Warranties cannot be voided by changing the plug unless they can prove that changing it caused the failure.

Of course, anyone can change plugs!

Shaggymon said it all in post #2 - no more needs to be said.

I know anyone can change a plug, but is it leagal ?
Years ago I know they included wiring of plugs to boilers, pumps etc on the test to get your certification for CORGI.
Tell me about the lack of fuses that are included in a UK plug and not in the Spanish ones, why do the UK appliances have them ?

A fuse is there to protect the device, an MCB is there to protect person
thats why it is so annoying when an MCB trips when a lamp blows, which is an initial surge before element breaks

as Rosemary says, for company warranty, but remember that in the UK you can still fit a larger or smaller fuse.

some try to say that in the UK Part L of Building Regs mean you should have certification for everything, but they are usually the one's who want you to pay thru the nose for everything or those who provide certification courses.
I havent come across an equivalent in Spain - yet.

whatever you do, use common sense, if in doubt then pay someone who know what they are doing
it used to be on old blueprints
IF IN DOUBT - ASK
