It is a complicated situation. Normally a child whose parent (just one of them) is Spanish but has lived most of their life abroad and has exclusively used another citizenship (British in this case) automatically loses their Spanish nationality after three years of attaining majority, so at the age of 21, unless they have made an election to retain Spanish citizenship at a Spanish diplomatic post. But this cancellation of citizenship can be reversed if they become a resident of Spain. In this case, as she was a daughter of a Spanish emigrant in UK, she can just claim Spanish citizenship and recover it without moving to Spain first. She should get in touch with Spanish consulate and find out the exact procedure for it. They will be answering phone calls and emails as the state of alarm has ended on 21st June.

I thought if a parent was Spanish then you were considered Spanish by origin therefore can apply for citizenship ?
