Yes I would think so as he will be roaming.
For example, say I have a pay-as-you-go Spanish phone and am in UK but have run out of credit. If someone in UK then phones me, what happens? Is the call rejected as there is no credit on my phone? Hmmmmmm.... |

How does this work then (assuming he will be charged)?

Hmmmmmm.... so I imagine it works the same the other way round? the only definitive answer will come from the service provider - they all have different tariffs |
Re: spanish mobile in UK
hmm never thought of that lol, he's with vodafone and seems adamant that altho he had run out of credit last time he was there, he could still receive calls from english mobiles! im fed up of arguing with him now so hes just left to put 20 euros on it..another space to watch lol

Hmmmmmm.... What happened was, when they topped up the balance, the cost of the received calles was immediately taken form the top up balance. So if you top up 20 euros for example, it can go down instantly because you were effectively in the red with the phone company. |
Re: spanish mobile in UK
My wife took both her and my Spanish mobiles to the UK three weeks ago and during her ten-day stay there called me almost every day, needless to say using my mobile. It only had 20 Euros in credit when she left and appears to still be in credit, although I haven’t checked.
I wondered why she had taken my mobile in the first place, but realised it just in time when I started dialling on the new Domo, the grass-up phone. It records every number you’ve ever dialled for a hundred years. |

Re: spanish mobile in UK
Best thing is to switch off your spanish mobile while you are in the U.K. and buy a U.K. p.a.y.g. phone. Or buy a U.K. sim and put it in your spanish phone (get it unlocked before you go).

Re: spanish mobile in UK
I think you have probably had all the best answers above and I know you said you are with Vodafone, so it's probably best to contact them but here are the charges for using Orange roaming in the UK.May be gives you an idea:confused:
To call Spain or EU 0.23 cents 1st minute and 0.46 cents per minute there after. To receive calls 0.18 cents per minute and 0.13 cents to send or receive SMS |
