Spanish Mobile Pay as you Go - Gandia area
Although we have a landline, a Spanish mobile would be helpful on occasions, can anyone recommend a network provider bearing in mind our backdrop of mountains lol

I had heard of a new provider called Yoigo and wondered what sort of a service it gave, but if Vodaphone is OK, its good enough for us.... thanks

You should also be able to get Movistar coverage (I do any way) but it will very much depend exactly where you are when making most calls.

if you are in Ontinyent I don't think there will be much problem with a signal, however, a friend had a Movistar and said he's had a brush with them hence the Yoigo query. Bet he doesn't know its a branch of Movistar
Oh well, now we got the providers we will look at a Spanish mobile as at the moment although we have a landline, we have also got £50 on an English mobile
Thanks both for your expert advice.

I've got a Hits mobile PAYG sim card, which I find very reasonable from a tariff perspective, much cheaper than the others. Also, it piggybacks on the vodaphone network, so the signal is pretty good, never had any problems where we live in Pego (surrounded by mountains). http://www.hitsmobile.es

All offer a " keep your number service on line" and seem to be between €0.7-0.9 per min for calls in Spain and about the same for texts to UK. Any one had expirenceof Yoigo, Hits or Carrefour in the Ayamonte area and with texts and cals back to UK.
