Spanish Law

Just came across an article in the German newsmagazine „Stern“ about a 19 year old German living on the Spanish Costa Blanca. His neighbour, the mother of a 5-year old girl, accuses him of messing with her daughter and infecting her with gonorrhea. He has spent 9 months in jail now and clinical tests have proven that he never was infected by gonorrhea. According to his lawyer, in Spain, anyone can be arrested after having been accused by their alleged victim and are only released after proving their innocence. An accused can be detained for up to 2 years until trial. So, anyone can just point a finger at you and you´re off to jail…??? Sounds a bit dodgy…

Don't know but if your understanding of the article is correct, sounds dodgy to me too.
