Spanish driving licence exchange
Going to change my UK for Spanish next week have my Cita, but it mentions medical certificate, I've been told I have to do a hand eye coordination test.... But others haven't mentioned it, can anyone please clarify, is it age related or.does everyone have to.do.it? I'm 60 and don't have any major health issues....cheers!

If you haven't done so, make an appointment at a private medical clinic where they do driver's medical test. They do basic checks on sight, hearing and blood pressure. Co-ordination test involves holding joysticks in your hands and try to keep your lines within the moving road on the screen. Don't worry if you stray at times - most people pass. Costs about 30 euro and when you pass, you get a certificate to submit to DGT.

He says an exchange / Canje (get a Spanish licence with same expiry date) doesn't need a medical but a renewal / RenovaciĆ³n (get a Spanish licence with expiry date 5-10 years from now) does. His opinion is that it's better to go for the renewal.
Presumably IminSpain is renewing as his documentation mentions a medical, but perhaps (s)he can confirm either way?

Re: Spanish driving licence exchange
The official line is that for an exchange, a medical is not required, however that will depend on the local Trafico office who handle the exchange.
I have read a number of first hand reports where a medical was required as part of the exchange process..

When i exchanged mine, and when mum exchanged hers, we both did medicals.
This was a few years ago now, but in both cases the photo and medical was sent electronically to the dgt.

There's a Jim's guide for this: https://www.guidebookspain.com/guide...r-spanish.html
