Spain TV Sets
Are new Spanish TV sets and UK equipment still incompatible. I need a new TV, will a new Spain TV work with Sky Digi Box?

UK Voltage: 240 VAC Frequency: UHF Band channels 21 through 68 (471 to 848 MHz approx) Signal: PAL-I Spain Voltage: 120 or 220/230 VAC Frequency: UHF Band channels 21 through 69 (I believe) Signal: PAL-B/G Aside from 120 VAC supplies, it's really only the last standard that matters, as far as I know, as there is no compatibility here and, as stated above, a multi standard TV is required. The signal standard applies to how the picture signal is decoded and presented on the screen as well as any composite (or S-video) video inputs, or outputs, that are accepted, or sent, by the equipment. At least that's my technical understanding of the issue. |

Wow that sounds techie.... a bit less techie now ;)
I have a UK tv, a Spanish tv bought 4 years ago, and a plasma bought 3 months ago. All work with Sky and also with Spanish cable tv, all pick up Spanish tv but through the cable, I haven`t tried with an antenna but I assume they would work. As you are using Sky then there shoud be no problem at all. |
Re: Spain TV Sets
If you connect your UK satellite receiver and/or video to a Spanish TV with euroconnectors (SCART) leads there is no compatibility problem.
However, it will not work with a connection to the RF output as you will not receive the sound. |
