Not sure people have the patience for more lockdowns. People have had enough now. Only 1 in 5 hospitalisations in the UK have had both jabs and no one under the age of 50 has died from Covid after having there jabs.

poor Spain ? The Spanish are happy that the islands have been put on the green list. They won’t lockdown again. They smashed barcelona to pieces when they went to lock them down. The piano player playing in the streets of Barcelona while all the rioting and madness was taking place all around him was iconic.

Absolutely! Yes the delta variant is running amok here in the UK but as you say double jabbed people are not getting seriously ill or being hospitalised. Such a fine balance, certain areas of Spain must be desperate for tourists to boost their economy.

We have been visiting Moraira for many years, haven't been for 2 years now, really hoping we can make it this year but not sure what we will find when we get there, how many bars and restaurants will have closed for good :(

I’m sure you’ll be there this year. So glad things are opening up again.

We're really hoping so, but Spain still on the amber list here which means we would have to quarantine when we get home and that makes it untenable for us, fingers crossed that will change before August

The virus and it's variants will be circulating for years, so be it August this year or August in 3 years time, the issue of variants becoming prevalent via travel is going to be an issue.

Catalonia is delaying opening up due the infection rate creeping up, and eight regions are currently trying to trace contacts and isolate them due to the outbreak in Malaga. The regions could end up pushing back against central government and demand a - PCR test or a double vaccination certificate from visitors from the UK (on that point I don't think the UK even has an internationally accepted double vaccination certificate yet).

In reality no country has it under control, one week it's up here and down in the UK and vice versa. There was an outbreak after the school end of term parties in Majorca(?) with at least 500 being infected and probably a lot more in reality, then we'll get the outbreaks from the euro's, lets face it as always it's money over health will be what governments main concerns are.

I don't see why the UK QR coded vaccine certificate wouldn't be accepted anywhere, especially as they are well up there with the vaccine roll out. It seems to be getting a bit petty in various people having little digs at others. Looks like the numbers are up but hospital admissions are not. So hopefully we're over the worst of it.

It's not a dig, it's not accepted everywhere.

How to use the NHS app as a Covid vaccine passport for travel

The delta variant wasn’t brought to Spain by Brits

because you need money to buy food. Maybe the people that are lucky enough to entirely grow their own food will be ok.

That's a bold claim, any evidence for it?
