Spain, non EU citizens renewing Residencia
Does anyone have recent experience ?
A friend is getting the run around by the office in Malaga.

I have had no problem just went to town hall with my NIE and passport Done

For an EU citizen, the residencia registration is in the documentation section of the National Police BUT for Non EU citizens it is in a dept of the Home Office

I spoke to a solicitor today, Apparently the EU law regarding resident status for people from outside the EU has changed recently and it is now much more complicated than it was. This applies to new applicants and to renewals.
With this in mind, I am sure that the experience of anyone with recent knowledge, or anyone who makes an application in the future, will be most welcome in the forum.

The new law came into force in Feb 2007.
It seems simpler than it was, not more complicated.

When we changed the address on our Residencia Certs at Torremolinos Nat police station there were non EU citizens getting their fingerprints etc taken for their Residencia cards.
