Spain - Most efficient healthcare in Europe?
According to this, it is. But who knows how creeping privatisation will change this?

I'm all for the privatization of healthcare over here. I've yet to go into a medical center or hospital over here and see anything being run efficiently, quite the opposite.

TBH it's not just the healthcare, it's the town halls (someone's just been sacked for their treatment and attitude over the phone in Madrid Town Hall), Hacienda....pretty much all of them too busy popping out for a cig break or worrying about a coffee break when they only work partial hours, even in Consumo last week, someone who thought it was more important to go out and do their shopping rather than the 6 or 7 hours work they should be doing. I also know of a Dr. that will likely lose their job very shortly for their treatment & attitude towards a patient.

My experience is a mixed bag. Local doctor and nurse. First class. Appointment system first class. Had to have a major op. When I got to Granada hospital they weren't linked to the notes of the previous specialists. Op went reasonably well. They even rang me on the Saturday after discharge to make sure there were no overnight complications. Overall I would say 9/10 . My dad had the same op in UK. 2/10 on same criteria.

Efficient health care is one thing and not necessarily the same thing as the very best health care as the link demonstrates.
The league table shown in the link is pretty well pointless in that it is trying to compare apples, with pears with bananas.
There are many factors outside the control of the normal healthcare service of a country that effect lifespan for instance, such as both typical living and working environments to give only two examples of many.
The cost per capita is based on that countries GDP, so not necessarily the true cost.
Trying to roll them in as one is only going to present a distorted picture.
From my own experiences mainly throughout Europe I would certainly not rate Spanish healthcare as the best.
On the other hand I would rate it as quite efficient judging by what I've seen of the work rate of the staff , who often seem hard pressed with the workload and numbers they're expected to deal with, but somehow still manage to cope reasonably well.
