Funnily enough I think Germany is the best country in Europe - with the only negative points being the extremely cold winter and the difficulty of their language.

Obviously you all think Spain is rubbish, yet out of all the countries in Europe, you choose to live here.

Why dont you go and live in Hamburg? You can snap up a modern 2/3 bed flat for 50k. Then you can enjoy the high quality of life! Just hope the Germans are as accommodating.

Be fair CM. The weather in Hamburg is probably similar to many places in the UK. For many folk who move to Spain, the climate is a key factor.

It's what appeals to you as an individual, and yes, sunshine IS important. Even here, I don't like it when the sun doesn't shine and the skies are grey.

It makes me think of England.

I do not think that it is the sunshine as such for me but blue skies even in the winter when it is cold as long as the sky is blue I am content. But as you said if the sky is grey I hate it and very quickly get low.

I find that every country that you travel to always think they are the best or have the finest in the world. Britain is still saying it even though they have sold off everything they were good at.

In view ofthe fact that it doesn't have Spain's advantage of lots of sunshine nor a great deal of quality accomodation, it must have something going for it judging by it's continued popularity in visitor numbers.

Almost every foreigner I meet can't wait to see London after they have seen it on TV, I wonder how many return?

I drove right across Europe touring, I got back to the UK and sat in traffic for hours on end, so decided to pop into London, I found it very dirty and depressing compared to Paris and Amsterdam, and there was a toll charge.

It took me over 14 hours to do a 6 hour journey, you can't even believe your Tomtom in some parts of the Uk.
