Spain and Alcohol

Re: Spain and Alcohol
A couple of things that surprised me were,
1, That 20% of Spaniards claim to be tea total, or should that read coffee total ?
2, Of the 80% who do partake, only 20% drink wine, which I presume means only 16% of the population as a whole.
Beer is two and a half times more popular than wine,
spirits come somewhere in between.

Re: Spain and Alcohol
I was having a meal with friends the other day in "Spanish" Benalmedena when I told the waiter that I wanted "sin" beer as I was driving. He said " why bother then the car will drive itself?" This seems to be the Spanish attitude towards alcohol consumption. Spain is the largest consumer of alcohol free beer is it not? Tried getting it in UK ( leicester) last summer and it was difficult and cost a fortune.
