Sorry but again...UK registered car in Spain.

Would it not be much simpler to bring the car back to the UK, flog it and buy a LHD car in Spain?

There are some similar models but this is a limited edition and the closest I could get in Spain would cost at least 15000 euros and wouldn't be nearly as good as mine. I spent hundreds of hours working on it and it's like new. If I sold it in the UK I wouldn't be getting more than £ 6000 (that being very lucky).

But at the end of all that messing about, you will still have a car where you are sitting on the wrong side for driving, wrong side for car park barriers, wrong side for toll stations, wrong side for overtaking.

Sold it of course as I paid less than that for it in the UK.

I have a feeling that I read somewhere there are special rules for classic cars.
I suggest you speak to a gestor who specialises in vehicle imports. They will probably be able to give you an instant answer and quote you the cost.

Then you could well have problems, if you manage to get hold of a certificate of conformity for the car from the manufacturer, if the spec isn't the same as listed when you take it for an ITV, it will not pass! Even things like the tyres being a different make or speed rating from that specified on the C of C will cause a fail, let alone any other mods!
And about driving a RHD, for me that's a minor problem.

Re: Sorry but again...UK registered car in Spain.
So you live in A Coruña!
I have to say that a modified car is not necessarily going to be classified as a Classic. It does come down to age. Besides you will still have to have a Ficha Técnicaand to obtain that you have to provide as mush information as possible. I know because I have imported a classic. At the time of importation the car was nearly 40 years old. Obtain the information asked for was difficult, but not impossible.
Seeing you are on U.K. plates here in the North you will stick out more than anywhere else in Spain. So maybe change those plates ASAP?
Hopefully you have all your other paperwork sorted out like NIF and Driving Licence etc.
Good luck

I had a Ficha Technica for the LDV (done at the same time as the Xantia) but Traffico in Valencia stated that it must attend the special event.

In Spain, the vehicle has to be at least 25 years old to apply to be classified as classic.
About the chances to be caught in the north, I would have said that it was the opposite, as there aren't so much UK registered cars that they don't give a damn about them and don't know much about this, unlike the guardias in the south that may be aware that many people is driving this not-so-legal cars.
