Default Sony Bravia TV

Anybody on here have one (preferably purchased in Spain) ?

Trying to watch more Spanish television lately but want English subtitles on and i am finding it impossible to do.

You can change to English subs as an option but they just come up Spanish.

Can anybody help ?

Reason being (seems a bit mad) i have been told watching an hour of cartoons in Spanish everyday really helps you to learn faster as the narrator has to speak in the correct dialect because the kids are also learning from it.

Unless the broadcaster is transmitting English subtitles then they won't appear regardless of the TV you own.

How would i know if the broadcaster is transmitting English subtitles or not ?

Or would that just not happen in Spain ?

When watching a British tv programme such as corrie it normally says subtitles at the bottom in the opening credits.

Would a Spaniard be able to choose Spanish subtitles then ?

I understand subtitles are for the deaf public but why does it give you the option of language change on your tv in the first place ?

Subtitle language that is and not the actual tv set language.

I wait to be corrected but I would suspect not.

Indeed he/she would.

In case of a broadcast having multiple subtitle streams to choose from.

My recommendation is to use the Spanish subtitles. That way you can put the written and spoken words together. It will help you learn.

To achieve your objective, perhaps you could buy DVDs with multi language subtitles.
