To get back to topic,

I see that Corbyn is complaining that Jihadi John (responsible for numerous atrocities including beheadings of innocent people), has apparently been taken out by a drone strike.

You can add the widow of one of jihadis victims and even conservatives who have also commented that it woukd have neen better that he was
tried in a court of law.

I agree that bringing the guy to court would have been the best thing to do (presuming justice would have actually been served, and he didn't get off on some technicality). However, the prospects of catching this guy alive were daunting, likely costing many lives in the process.

But there is a side of me that reckons this guy never even considered giving anyone a "fair" trial, and considering the alternatives, taking him out is justifiable. It is a war, after all, declared by the likes of this pathological killer. At least he died quickly without first terrorising him, which can't be said for his victims.

I wonder who you would expect to risk their lives in Isis territory and bring him out unharmed so he can spend the rest of his days in comparitive luxury ?

In a perfect world he'd have been brought out alive to face trial.

There again in a perfect world there wouldn't be any Jihadi Johns. :cool:

In the sick world he inhabited he is now a " martyr " bought to trial his beliefs would shown up for whst they are and then sentenced to life in solitary confinement .
In a perfect world the events that created the Jihadi Johns would never havd happened.

Well, you know, we have to be "tolerant", even of those who couldn't give a flying dynamic fark about "tolerance". After all, they are entitled to their culture and beliefs... Even if they're pathological killers bent on destroying all western civilisation.

I believe that we are and always must be better than the jihadi johns.
We have standards we must adhere to and acts such as that taken by the US should always be the last resort.
Isreal could kidnapped, Eichman put a bullet in the back of his head and left him in the gutter.
Few tears would have been shed.
Instead he was smuggled back to Isreal put on trial in front of the entire world where his actions and beliefs were revealed for the evil they were.
Eichman was responsible for the deaths of 100, thousands.
The example set by Isreal is still remembered decades later.
Jihadi john will be forgotten tomorrow other than by those who share his views, whose numbers may even grow as they seek to emulate his acts and martyrdom.

Just a slight difference between bringing Eichman out of a peaceful country free of conflict, as against getting Jihadi John out of an ISIS warzone without being the next poor sod to get his head chopped off, methinks.

Any volunteers ? :cool:

Who knows, Corbyn and EMR having such strong views on the subject, they could have been first in line.....
