There must be someone on here who has bought a dog travel kennel for flying with their dog?

I posted another thread about it and have had no replies.

Where did you buy yours from?
Do you get it delivered to your home in advance?
Are they really about £700 as I've been quoted?

What procedure did you go through at the airport?
Where do we collect her from?

Any relevant answers appreciated.

The company we used provided the crate - it was customised to include a water feeder etc. It's now long since gone.

I can't recall who we used as it was over 9 years ago now.

They took him into kennels first, then onto the plane. We were then notified when he arrived and we went to pick him up - simples.

I was going to say something funny

but thought better of it

I suggest you look on ebay, seems a lot cheaper but then it might be the Ryanair of dog kennels?

Must admit, a flying dog kennel is something new to me, but I shall be keeping a close watch on the sky in future.

I presume they needed to be of superior construction with regard to handling in the airports.
I've heard mixed reports with regard to people sending their dogs by air, some very happy, but other reports of staff seemingly mishandling and deliberately throwing the crates around and one case I heard of where the crate broke open and the dog went missing.
Fortunately the owners kept a vigil around that particular airport for three weeks before their dog finally turned up unharmed.

Have you considered transport by road for your dog? Iata approved travel crates can be very expensive it is not unusual to pay 100s of pounds for one!!!!
