Some dirty rotten little swine has robbed 1.5 million euros from a group of poor little nuns.............

The poor little sisters had saved and saved their little nest egg, and had it in plastic bags, in a wardrobe.

It is such a shame now they will have to start salting away what little money they get, to build up a little nest egg again.

Isnt it something along the lines of, it is easier for 16 humble nuns to save 1.5 million smackeroonies than to pass a string of cooked spaghetti through the eye of a needle, or words to that effect.

Very interesting case, begs some interesting questions.
How did 16 nuns come by1.5 million euros in the first place ?
Had they declared it and paid their taxes or was it black money ?
Wonder if the taxman will be asking any questions now ?
If they had that much cash why didn't they have something more secure than a wardrobe to keep it in ?
Why was it not invested in a safe place to earn even a little interest ?
Sounds to me like there's a rabbit off somewhere along the line.

Isnt it just such a sad little tale, I have heard no more on this subject from official sources, so I reckon the little stash has not been found.

But there is a rumor that the priest is wearing a diamond encrusted DOG COLLAR, but that is only hearsay and in no way should it cause folks to jump to conclusions,

How many Nuns were there?

They do get a good wage don't they?

If there was quite a few of them pooling their money that they probably never need to spend like we do, I can't see why it's so surprising really.

There were 16 nuns, and I have no idea about the wage, but it would work out about 94k each, and if they didnt spend on, nails, highlights, sunbeds and tattoos, then it is quite possible

Also, there is another theory, that the whole thing is a scam, to get the insurance to pay up.

And it also must be asked, what were they saving for, a holiday in Las vegas, or what, I dont imagine it would be shoes and handbags....

Sounds like a plan to me. If you get done over, you simply make a claim to the insurance company telling them about the dustbin bag of Bin Ladens you 'just happened' to have tucked away in the wardrobe.

Point out that many other figures like Spanish mayors are famous for overlooking they had bags of dosh lying around.

Latest news on this case, is that the money was legit, all "religiosos" have to aprotion the collection money, into an icome for themselves and money to be spent on "work of the Lord"

They had a method which was to draw a chalk circle on the floor, throw the money in the air, what landed outside the circle was for the Lords work and what landed inside was the "wage" of the members of the order.

It was a fair method and worked well, but the nuns decided to update their working practices as regards to dividing the collection.

So they threw the money up in the air and what stayed up was for the Lord and what came down was their "wage".

Doubt any insurance company in their right minds would insure unlimited hoardes of cash laid about in a property, especially in a wardrobe of all places, rather than somewhere more secure.
There's normally a limit on how much spare cash they are willing to insure in a property, possibly one or two thousand max.,rather than a wardrobe full of bin ladens.
Looks like those poor nuns could be back out working the streets again fairly soon, if they don't want a taste of the fathers leather strap around their backsides......or whatever.

I like that story! Sounds like the test for witches or heretics in the old days. Throw them in the river tied up - if they drown, they're human and are exonerated. If they float to the top and survive, they're obviously witches and need to be burnt at the stake.
