the best method is to make all arrangments yourself, making sure the card is at a friend or family address, and pay via DD direct to Sky. Do not go down the Sky Multiroom package, it does not work outsode the UK.

i always say to clients that they can do it themselves or for a fee get me to set it all up and activate the card for them if they are scared to contact Sky from Spain. I give them all the details of their account including passwords and payment dates for the account as proof that I have set it up for them.

You can also buy a card direct from dealers (i do not often do this but can) but you will find that these are at an address they control so the theory says that you MAY not get a replcement card if / when they do replace them.

All payments should be direct to sky, but some dealers will also take, and i mean take, from your bank a yearly "maintainence" fee for the use of their address. They may not tell you about this tho when you get a card from them.

I hope this helps.

Do not go down the Sky Multiroom package, it does not work outside the UK.

I have to disagree with you on that one,I have 2 multirooms plus my full package and they work fine...
regards
John.

Re: sky tv

If you just want the basic free to air channels you dont even need to contact sky at all. Just need the dish and box. Youll still get BBCs, ITVs, E4, more4 and Ch4 now. You dont get channel5 or sky three though.
You get a few music channels such as bubble hits and other channels such as true movies. Full channel list here: http://www.ftasat.co.uk/ You get all the ones which say FTA.
You dont even have to have a sky branded box. Im happily using a Humax PVR box. Its good because it actually hides out the encrypted channels so I dont even have to see them :) Though you dont get the full TV Guide, only now and next. But at least it supports timezones so its showing the correct local time :)
