sky dish and programes?
We have a large sky dish and a £20 sky card. we get all the usual programes,ie; ITV1,2,and 3 and quite a few more. The thing is (excuse my ignorance here) what sort of digibox would I need to access more without having to pay for it.
I have heard that if you have the right box you would be able to access american programes, films etc. know i might have to buy a new box but which one, dont know a thing about this sort of stuff. grateful for any advice. Obviously dont want to watch tv all the time but will be nice in winter. |
Re: sky dish and programes?
I would think that you have to upgrade to Sky, should require only a new card, but unfortunatly it will mean a subscription, about 80 euros per month

Re: sky dish and programes?
The only other way to receive more channels is to redirect your dish to another satellite and buy a free to air digital receiver, or preferably, have a separate dish.
A Sky digibox is not suitable for multisatellite viewing as, apart from being made with very cheap components, it is restricted to receiving channels with symbol rates of 22.000 or 27.500. You can find a list of satellites and channels available here. |
Re: sky dish and programes?
Lots of American programs on Sky - maybe that's what people have told you - think your only option is to subscribe to Sky - you can't do this directly with Sky - because you are in Spain but satellite installers here know some way of getting round it.
