Hi there!
I would be interested!
I've never had one, so I guess I just need to connect it to my router, to my TV and then register the box with my Sky ID in order to watch the channels corresponding to my subscription, is that correct?
Thanks a lot for your reply!

I thought that a Sky box was a satellite receiver - ours is. In which case you will need a dish (correctly oriented) and you should be able to receive some satellite channels, mainly Spanish but some of the subscription Sky. For Sky Freesat channels you would need an enormous dish if you are in Ayamonte area. You would have to register your box with a UK address connected to a UK telephone line (I think, not sure if you can register on an internet connection). Then you could bring the box back to Spain with your card and it might work. But never tell Sky you are outside the UK!
Of course, depending on the model, you could use it as a non-Sky satellite box for other services you might be able to get on your dish.

Thanks a lot for your message Rosemary. I've been viewing the forum for a long time, but never got the occasion to actually participate. Now done

Thanks! Got the notification of your PM, however can't read it since I get the following "The administrator has restricted use of the private message system to members with more than 3 posts." I understand this must be a mistake, and in reality PMs are restricted to members with LESS than 3 posts... Will post some more, to see what will then happen.

Thanks Mike, I wasn't aware of this is a satellite receiver... I currently watch Sky Sports on my PC, using an UK VPN and thought that instead of connecting the PC to my TV, I could simply connect permanently the Sky Box to my TV and watch the content corresponding to my subscription...

Helderberg, did you use it connected to a satellite dish?

If you want a separate box to watch UK TV (eg Sky Go etc) there are a number of Android boxes available and you can view the debate on the pros and cons on various threads on the Spain and Portugal fora.
