Sky - Applying Online
I want to end my subscription with whoever is the supplier of my illegal card here in Spain and join Sky by giving a UK address and UK bank details. If I try to do this online which they realise I have a Telefonica online account?

Contrary to what some would have you believe, Sky do not waste their time trying to turn customers away. If you phone them and ask to activate your card in Spain that's a different matter - but surely anyone who did that deserves to be cut off! |

Mitzyboy - I know it is stupid but I feel so guilty that I am sure I will slip up or something on the phone. For example when they ask for a landline and I say I haven´t got one! Whereas if I do it online the guilt won´t show!

Why don't you call them and just ask that they change the address on your account. No need to cancel anything. If they ask for a phone number just say you haven't had it installed yet, and since your contract is non-subscribed, or more than 12 months old it doesn't need a phone line anyway.

she may not be able to do this as sky tend to ask for the exisitng address for the card
Our charge of £299 is for the supply of the card, use of the UK/Irish address, completing the Sky contracts on your behalf, activation of the card and 12 months support should you need it. Sky will then charge you directly by direct debit on your credit card for your chosen package on a monthly basis. All subscriptions are for a minimum 1 year period and subject to an annual renewal fee (160 euro) if subscribing again. The fee is automatically charged after each 12 months. |

Hi
When renting a house in Spain and they say the property has skytv, does that mean they have the card or would i have to bring mine from home? |

Re: Sky - Applying Online
I will be cancelling the card from the dodgy supplier and applying for a new one from Sky direct but to use in our existing sky plus box.

Re: Sky - Applying Online
I phoned Sky last week using a UK mobile as my TV was asking to insert the NEW CARD which we do not have. The card was registered at my mother in laws house and she died five years ago.
I explained that we had moved a few years ago and failed to inform them. They have extended my old card and changed the region on it. We now get BBC 1 central / east instead of north east. We are still waiting for the replacement card to be sent to the new address I gave and of course it will have to be forwarded out here. |

So I take it that its fairly safe to phone Sky from Spain using a UK mobile? Is it necessary to make a call to them to activate the replacement card? |
