I have read elsewhere but cannot find it that you can get very short term car insurance. Can you also get as you can in Belgium and Holland export plates to cover you from place of storage to Portsmouth?

I have exported into UK but not out. I guess you are buying a new car for export UK to Spain ?

Your dealer should arrange export tax free plates for you. Plates are good for up to 6 months. Audi give FREE 7 day car insurance on your purchase. Have you asked dealer if he will deliver car for collection @ Portsmouth?
