That could be said for a lot of what is posted on forums.

It is shocking that anyone could do such a thing to another. If no one mentions it, it could be seen as we ( as in general) don't want to know about horrific deaths and other horrors around the world.

I learn a lot about what's going on in the world from reading different posts on here in all of the various country forums. I don't have a lot of time to trawl through newspapers but, a quick glance at "Today's Posts" will often give me a glimpse into world news and then I can decide whether to click on links or follow the news articles elsewhere. BE is certainly more informative than any Italian news channel that's for sure.
